Dr. Shweta Reddy specializes in social psychology of clothing and appearances. Dr. Reddy utilizes her Design and Product development experience in the apparel industry to enhance students’ knowledge of textiles. She is a member of ITAA (International Textile & Apparel Association), AATCC (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists), AAFCS (American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences), and Text and Academic Authors (TAA). Dr. Reddy’s scholarly interests include body image and social-psychological coping with body dissatisfaction. Current research topics are focused towards development of design and merchandising pedagogy to prepare students for success in the real world.
